Joel fell in love with old ballads through singing the classic canon of the Clancy Brothers in his Irish folk bands Liltntang and The Regulars where he plays flutes, whistles, mandolins, and banjos with fellow cast member, Sean FayeCullen. Joel also has performed with an eclectic array of talented groups including the Masanga Marimba Ensemble, The Culture Crash Orquestra, Keenar, and TAIKOPROJECT.
As a fan of Celtic music for many years, Joel also runs a record label out of his Thousand Oaks based recording studio, WEEfolk Studios. At the label, Joel focuses on recording and releasing original music from acoustic artists and traditional and modern Celtic music, which can be found online at the label's WEEfolk Sessions channel on YouTube. Joel is very pleased to be inhabited by the spirit of Tommy Makem and to be empowered to help spread the joy of singing together to audiences all over.
